Good or Bad Life
A good life is a kind of living that can lead us to a happy and satisfying life. One needs to do right things; such as following the regulation of family, school, social, government, and even game rules. The good life can make us live more healthily and happily. It involves true love and care.
A bad life is a kind of living that can lead us to a destructive life. Person with a bad life may break rules or do something wrong; such as stealing things, lying to others, scolding parents, not eating properly, cheating at school, and not following instructions. The bad life makes our life whither. It may bring us some temporary happiness, but it never gives a true happiness.
A good life is the life that helps us grow and prosper, yet a bad life can destroy not only our body but also our spirit.

A Lucky Day
Cathy is a clever and hardworking girl. It is the summer time, so she stays home alone because both her parents work.
One day morning, Cathy's mother said, "We won't be back until nine o'clock tonight. You must look after yourself."
Cathy said, "Don't worry mom, I will look after myself. I will stay home and do my homework and watch TV." Mom said, "Good girl! See you tonight."
When her mom left the flat, Cathy was doing her homework. In the afternoon, she got bored, so she switched on the TV. Suddenly she smelt something burning. She was frightened. She asked herself, "What shall I do? Yes, I must call mom now."
Unfortunately, the fire had burned near to the door of her flat. She couldn't reach the phone because of the black smoke. She was scared and she started crying aloud. Her neighbours reported to the police. After about 10 minutes, the firemen reached the burning area. They put out the fire and saved her from the window. She felt very fortunate.

My English Lesson
When we were correcting the comprehension questions on the computer, the computer monitor blacked out because the electricity supply had stopped. It took about two minutes, the electricity started working again.
We recorded the reading. I read a comprehension passage with the title, "I was awarded bronze certificate for my Olympic Maths competition". I read very slowly but I could understand all the message. Then I answered all the questions correctly.
Now, I am sitting with Terri and I am looking at the screen.
I will write some questions for the passage as my homework.
1.How can the author help herself remember what she reads?

2.Why was the computer monitor blacked out during the lesson?

3.How could the auther understand the comprehension massage?

Reading Comprehension
I think reading comprehension is an interesting skill to learn. I have four suggestions to share with you to improve the comprehension skill when reading.
- When you read, you must understand and remember what you read. To remember the story, you can use imagined pictures to help you remember the message.
- Reading and thinking should happen when you read. Without thinking, you can't understand the message.
- When there are some unknown words, you can skip the words by just saying "bah..bah.." or pronounce the words if you can. You shouldn't stop too long to think about the unknown words.
- Read words in groups or phrases. Link the words into phrases when you read. You should not put a pause after reading a single word.
If you follow my advice, your reading comprehension can improve very soon.
1. How many suggestions does the author want to share?

2. What can you do to remember what you read?

3.When there are some unknown words, what can you do?
